Available Rats
Here are our currently available or soon to be available rats. Please note that we may have new cases and other rats in custody that may not be listed on our PetFinder listing, do not let that stop you from applying as you don't need to request specific rats or cases to get the adoption process going with us!
All of our currently available rats are listed on PetFinder, click on a case below to get more information and photos on each case. All rats that come through the GRR must go through a mandatory recommended quarantine and ongoing health / temperament evaluations. Each case is individually fostered at a separate foster homes located in and around the state, where the case(s) are are listed will be on a case' the PetFinder listing along with availability start dates for their adoption, any additional adoption requirements or special considerations. Adoption Appointments will be made at corresponding foster home locations or at a agreed upon central public location if the foster is not allowing public visitations in their home. For more information on each animal or if you have questions in general, please contact us at [email protected]. To start the adoption process be sure to fill out the Adoption Application and visit our How To Adopt page for adoption information, fees & updated policies.
Please Note: We require the adoption of a pair of rats (2 rats) minimally unless a case specifically says otherwise or is listed as a litter, there are no exceptions! Because rats are social creatures and they form deep bonds with each other we strive to keep individuals together that come in together or if they are determined to be bonded Therefore we highly encourage the adoption of the case as a whole as listed if at all possible. We offer heavily discounted adoption fee schedule for those who adopt more than two. The pair minimum to be adopted must then be from the same case as listed as currently being fostered together if not.

Meet Our Special Needs & Angel Placement Rats
Linkin & Blinkin- Special Handling
These brothers came to us on 3/13/22 from Lab Rat re-homing program through a family that couldn't handle their special needs. From what we have determined during their time with us is that they have very poor eyesight and so proper interaction within the cage and being picked up / carried is critical but once out, they are lap rats and cuddlers. They aren't picky about what foods they eat, they enjoy other rats company (and can be integrated with others) and enjoy their out time, wheel and lots of treats. Initial clicker-trust building training has begun. Description: Albino standard coat/ear males - Not Neutered DOB: 12/25/21 Available: NOW - Currently Fostered in Norcross Special Need: The boys need proper handling when being carried outside the cage and an adequate warning before trying to touch / approach while inside the cage. We recommend experienced rat owners for this case and they don't do well with children (12 and under). |
